I've been here two months, so not exactly long.

[He still has much to discover here.]

And people just... suddenly end up here, with no real rhyme or reason?

[ That's the impression he's been getting in the short time he's been here. ]

[startraveler]

You could say that! Though it seems new people show up in groups and they come from all kinds of various worlds.

[He hasn't been here long enough to see any patterns but it looks like there might be none. The dreamworld seems like a whimsical place, who drags people in and lets them go as it pleases.]

[inspiteful]

I see... Then, have you been enjoying yourself here?

[ He doesn't think it hurts to ask? Maybe Lark can learn about some good things and places to check out here, while he's at it. ]

[startraveler]

[Aether grins.]

Things can be pretty fun here... but they can also get dangerous as you saw for yourself.

[He gestures for the other to follow him.]

We're in a dreamworld so anything can happen. There are all kinds of people from different worlds, too... I like meeting new people and hearing their stories, so I can't say I'm not enjoying myself.

[inspiteful]

[ Lark is quick to follow after Aether, though this is perhaps the second (or third?) time someone has brought up "different worlds". ]

I'm still trying to understand what people mean about "different worlds" here...

[Oh.

Aether thinks about it for a moment.]

...What is the place you come from called?

[inspiteful]

I'm from Wu-Jian.

[ ...And a beat later, once he considers that maybe he should add a little more, given the whole "different worlds" thing: ] We call the world "Creation".

[startraveler]

[Aether smiles.]

I've never heard of such place.

[He continues walking.]

I'll be curious to learn more about it. The place I lived in was called Teyvat.

[Well, he lived there for... 500 years now, in a way.]

[inspiteful]

I get the feeling I'm gonna be hearing that a lot.

[ Which is to be expected, he supposes. ] What Teyvat like?

[startraveler]

It has seven nations and each one of those nations has a god that watches over it.

[One of those gods happens to be around, in this dreamworld but Aether is not going to mention that.]

Teyvat is really big. There's still so many places I want to see.

[inspiteful]

[ Seven nations in one world? The nations must be huge, then. Or perhaps the world is "small" (what counts as "small" for a world, anyway)? Lark's eyebrows raise, he doesn't seem surprised at the mention of gods, but, hmm, every nation has a god that watches over it... ]

It sounds like you've already seen plenty, but there's always still more?

[startraveler]

There's always more to see. I don't think one lifetime would be enough to witness everything.

[Even though he lives a long life and so many different worlds along his journey, there is still so much that he hasn't witnessed.]

[inspiteful]

Seasoned traveler, are you?

[startraveler]

You could say so.

[He grins.]

I travelled most of my life.

[inspiteful]

[ Lark tilts his head, curious. ]

What's it like?

[ ...He might be curious as someone who's never really left the island he was born on. ]

[startraveler]

Full of adventures!

[Aether continues to grin.]

You get to see tall mountains, stormy islands, endless meadows and ruins hidden under the surface. But it's also dangerous - you can encounter monsters, but also bandits and other bad guys. It's best to be well prepared... but it's definitely worth it.

[He misses travelling.]

[inspiteful]

[ Aether's excitement and honest joy are infectious. Just hearing about it makes Lark smile too. ]

Well, some people would say anything worth doing is at least a little risky.

[startraveler]

I guess that may be true.

[He laughs softly.]

But what do you think? Would you like to travel and face dangers for the sake of an adventure?

[inspiteful]

[ He pauses to seriously think about this. On the one hand, it's not as if he's eager to look for danger, despite what Crane has said before. It's just, you know, sometimes a guy has things to do and goals to accomplish, and then it turns out most of the time that means having to risk danger.

On the other hand, it's felt like danger has been coming for him the past few months or so (and sometimes it's not even his fault, he swears!), and he can't say he's a huge fan of that. He can't say he hasn't thought that it'd be nice to travel and see the world either, though... ]

Mmm...well, if I've got things to do, I don't think I really have much of a choice about facing danger, haha.

[startraveler]

It sounds like there's a longer story there.

[He smiles.]

But I can't say I don't know anything about not having a choice when things need to be done.

[All Aether ever wanted was to be reunited with his sister, yet fate makes sure he has to take a lot of detours on his path and often get involve into some sort of danger.]
